VeloRunner Community

This week, we were lucky enough to be able to help out at one of the local community primary schools where Peter is also a parent governor.

Peter is involved in a project called OPAL, an award-winning school improvement programme that strategically and sustainably improves the quality of their play opportunities. We all want our children to be happier and healthier and get the chance to play, which they want and need. OPAL schools also see these benefits.

  • 80% drop in reported behaviour and first-aid incidents

  • 20% more afternoon teaching time

  • Compliance with well-being inspection requirements

  • Increased resilience, collaboration and inclusion

Yesterday, Velorunner coordinated and collected items for repurposing to play items from local business friends to start the major phase of the outdoor play areas. Special thanks go to Printdesigns Ltd in Stone, Tyreways in Uttoxeter, Asda Uttoxeter, Selwyn from Milwich, and Ray from Ray Jeffery Agricultural Engineers for the tractor tyres.
